If you’re like me, this came after a long road of hardly any sleep, way too many hours of baby crying, multiple tries at eliminating foods with some (but not much) success, and you are completely overwhelmed, exhausted and feeling alone.
Just discovered your baby has histamine intolerance, so what now?
I’m here to help! I’ve spent the last year and a half learning to make low histamine eating more simple and more fun- and I can share the tricks with you.
Have food intolerances on top of histamine intolerance? I can help you find recipes that fit all your needs.
My road to histamine intolerance:
Two and half years ago my third child was born 5 weeks premature and spent 12 days in the NICU. She struggled with breastfeeding for a while, but overcame those struggles. She had a diaper rash since she was 3 days old and no matter what I tried I couldn’t get it to go away! She also started having screaming fits every day, arching her back, and waking every 1 ½- 2 hrs. Around 6 months she developed a rash on her face too.
After 11 months & several elimination diets which only partially eased her symptoms, I took her to see Dr Brus at Functional Medicine of Idaho. He suggested that she may suffer from histamine intolerance and recommended following a low histamine diet to see if her symptoms improved. They did, and we still follow a low histamine diet, 1.5 years later! I have spent hours learning about managing histamine intolerance by eating low histamine foods. I’ve learned so much and I share tips and recipes on my food blog.
